About CASP

CASP is made up of three parts:

 

Part One comprises a questionnaire on the communication environment, designed to find out about the opportunities an individual may have for communicating. This is usually completed with a carer.

 

Part Two is a manual containing photographs of every day objects and events. It includes sections to assess hearing and auditory skills, understanding and use of communication. This is usually completed with a speech and language therapist.

 

Part Three contains a record of strengths, a percentile rank chart, communication envronment rating scale and a record of priorities for change. These are agreed between the individual, the therapist and the carer/keyworker.

 

Each pack comes with

 

  • A manual
  • Notes and background information book
  • 15 forms (Five x Parts 1, Parts 2, Parts 3)
  • An audio CD

 

A CD containing the photographs is also available, allowing users to present the photos on a laptop, or change the size of the photos as required.
